Roma: we came, we saw, we got soaked...

It seemed like a good idea to start the world tour in sunny Rome - but we hadn't reckoned on an enormous thunder storm breaking out as soon as we stepped off the train. Soaked to the skin, we made it to the appartment where my parents we waiting. After some pizza and a bottle of wine, all was well.
We've had two lovely days here, walking everywhere, eating fantastic food and enjoying seeing my and Gwenfair's parents. A big farewell meal yesterday took three hours - which is as it should be. Tonight we get on the plane to Tokyo, which we've been saying will be the 'proper' start of journey...
